I am assembling a replica of Meyer's concentric tube cell. I have three sets of 316L stainless steel tubes, nested with 1/16 inch spacing using teflon spacers. I have wound the VIC (Voltage Intensifier Circuit) using a ferrite toroid. Has anyone successfully achieved the molecular resonance that Stan described?

Hi H2O_Power. The secret is that the water must act as a dielectric, not a conductor. Do not use tap water or add electrolyte. Use distilled water. If you pass current, you are doing Faraday electrolysis (which gets hot and is inefficient). You need high voltage pulses (around 5-10kV) but very low current. The bifilar choke coils are key—they must resonate with the water capacitor's capacitance to choke off current.

Dave is correct. You need to adjust the frequency sweep between 10kHz and 50kHz. When you hit resonance, the current drops to almost zero, but gas production suddenly goes wild. You will see bubbles forming instantly on the tube surfaces without any heat. Make sure your tubes are fully conditioned (an oxide layer should form on them after running them under low voltage in KOH first).
