John Worrell Keely was an American inventor who claimed to have discovered a new physical force based on acoustic resonance and "etheric force." He raised millions of dollars from investors for the Keely Motor Company. Posthumous inspection of his laboratory in 1899 revealed hidden compressed air tubes, exposing his demonstrations as conventional fraud.
